About BDC（Dance School / Dance Studio）

The K-Broadway Dance Company in Tokyo, Japan, is known internationally
as a leader in jazz dance education. Its school offers classes
in a wide range of techniques at all levels. Professionally
produced performances give students an opportunity to put their
training into action.
Broadway Dance Center (BDC) was established in 1984, with the
intention of cultivating jazz dancers, capable of performing
on the international dance scene. The teaching staff of BDC
is drawn from world-class dancers and choreographers who offer
up-to-date dance techniques to both domestic students and those
from other Asian countries. Overseas instructors rate the ability
and talent of BDC-trained dancers as first class. To date, more than 10,000 students have trained at BDC. Many of
them are now playing an active role in K-Broadway's performances
as well as with dancers and choreographers around
the world.
In 1985, K-Broadway offered its first dance performances at
the Hakuhinkan Theater in Tokyo. The first overseas performance
was in Seoul at the invitation of the Korean government. (K-Broadway
was the first group to perform in Korea after a period of restriction
on cultural imports from Japan.) Following Seoul were performances
in New York ('90, '95); Los Angeles ('90, '94, '95); Moscow
('93); Shanghai ('94, '95, '96, '99); Paris ('96); Macau ('99)
and Seoul ('02). In 2002, we performed at the Tokyo International
Forum and participated in the FIFA World Cup Final Event. In
2003, we participated in the Miss Universe Japan Pageant, the
53rd International Beauty Forum in Japan and Music Fair in 2003
in Los Angeles.
In 2003, “Brand New Start”for the K-Broadway's 20th Anniversary
Celebration opened at Ebisu Garden Room. In 2004,
"K-Broadway
Dance Revolution" opened at Ririkku-hall
in Nagaoka, Shibuya-koukaido in
Tokyo. In 2005, Andre Fuentes 10th
Anniversary Decadance was opened
at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club eX.
In 2006, K-Broadway participate in "Japan
Festival 2006 in Vietnam" in Hanoi,
Vietnam, and PRADIUM was opened at
Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club eX. In
2007, K-Broadway performs
"Advance Dance Chance" at Tokyo Kouseinenkin Hall. We
performed at a charity show of
Ayumi-no-hako as volunteer. Also
we had "Vision Incrociate" performance
at Agnelli Hall in Italian Cultural
Institute.
In 2008,we performed at Ms.Sumire Haruno(famous former Takarazuka star)Concert"My Heart"
which took place both inTokyo
and Osaka.
Moreover, we participated "Vietnam Festival '08"at Yoyogi Park for the 35th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
On December,we performed"Soul Strring Dance""Wanna Dance!?"at Sougetsu Hall in Tokyo.
Our unique dance style, based on jazz and drawing from the disciplines
of ballet, modern, hip-hop, tap and ethnic, has drawn accolades
from oversea medias. As we continue to grow, our unchanging desire
to communicate with people all over the world through the universal
language of dance.
